Sharing Student Projects

About this website

The Sharing student projects website aims to facilitate the interaction and engagement between higher education institutions and the communities that are involved and connected to student work.

A research component in the form of a major project or dissertation is often required for a qualification to be awarded. Excerpts from major projects / dissertations are showcased on this website.

Specific criteria are provided to students to address in their project write up. A moderation process involves selection criteria that are upheld to support examples on this website. These criteria include oversight from the marking team involved in each piece of research as well as consent from the student who completed the work.

The summaries provided on this website may be of interest for students who are developing ideas regarding the major project/dissertation they are to undertake and can support students later in the process to inspire and consider the contributions to knowledge and impact of their research projects. These summaries could also be used with research participants to provide examples of student work taking place through the University of Manchester.

This website has been made possible through a grant from the University of Manchester that supported staff time and development monies to build the website and establish an advisory panel.

This initiative was conceptualised by Sarah MacQuarrie and Ann Lendrum in 2018 and was fuelled by their interest and research into teacher engagement. Thank you to all those that have supported this activity; contributing their time and wisdom that have fuelled this work.
