Career story
My research scrutinizes the accuracy and appropriateness adolescent mental health assessments and I am working to get grant funding to develop better alternatives. Because my work challenges methods that are widely used it can be hard to get widespread buy in from the research community. I stay motivated by the idea that my work might improve our ability to identify people in need, and better understand risk/protective factors. It also really helps that when I speak to young people and practitioners, they often say there is a real need to improve current approaches!
